About Us
CBM Insurance is a local, independent agency with over 30 years of experience serving the tri-state area. We offer personalized insurance solutions tailored to our clients' needs and have partnered with over 15 national and regional carriers to provide a wide range of coverage options.
With expertise across various industries—from restaurants and wholesalers to contractors and property managers/owners—we prioritize building strong, personal relationships with our clients. Our team of sales executives, account managers, and service professionals takes a hands-on approach to address coverage inquiries, offer recommendations, and assist with claims. We are committed to frequent follow-ups to ensure our clients are treated fairly and that they experience the full value of choosing CBM Insurance as their trusted broker.
As part of our growth mindset, CBM has expanded its reach through strategic acquisitions. In 2020, we acquired Insurance and Financial Services (IFS), integrating their team and carrier partners. In 2022, we acquired the majority of shares in Business Insurance Services, Inc. (BISI Agency, Wilmington, DE). In 2023, CBM joined Alera Group, a national insurance and financial services firm, expanding our offerings to include employee benefits, property and casualty insurance, retirement planning, and wealth management solutions.
We are excited about our growth and the talented professionals we've added to our team. Thank you for choosing CBM Insurance—we look forward to earning your business!

Captive Insurance
Group captives are ideal for companies with over $150,000 in annual premiums across workers’ compensation, general liability, and auto insurance. By creating a captive, businesses can assess the risks of subsidiaries, write policies, set premiums, and potentially earn back up to 60% of premiums in profits or invest for future claims. Some captives also insure the risks of their group’s customers. Benefits include:
- Protection similar to a traditional, guaranteed cost plan.
- Premiums based on the insured’s actual losses over the last five years (no artificial rates).
- No “unknown” risks.
