    BJ Webster

BJ Webster is an industry veteran with over 35 years of experience constructing and managing investment portfolios for clients. He brings his expertise to role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Wealth Services and Retirement Plan Services at Alera Group.

In 2022 Alera Group acquired Wharton Business Group, co-founded by Webster in 1992. Believing that an unbiased, low-cost approach to investing is essential in today’s world of proprietary products and high-cost investing, Webster has strived for the role of trusted advisor. He specializes in investment advisory and business continuity services, including leadership succession and estate planning – typically working alongside other advisors to help business owners.

In addition to providing succession and leadership planning to his clients, Webster recognized the need to be responsible for next generation planning and succession for his own business. Practicing what he preached, he joined Alera Group where he’s now able to connect clients with a network of experts and advisors in other planning areas.

Webster started his financial services career with CIGNA Individual Financial Services in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Born in Delaware, BJ was raised in Florida and graduated from the University of Delaware in 1985.

He currently lives in Gainesville, Florida with his wife Jamie. They are actively immersed in the lives of Jamie’s three adult children and three grandchildren. BJ and Jamie are very involved and supportive of many local Gainesville charities and community service organizations.
