Alera Group Acquires Employee Benefits Division of Lamb Insurance Services

May 6, 2021

Alera Group, a top independent, national insurance and wealth management firm, today announced the acquisition of the employee benefits division of Lamb Insurance Services, an insurance broker exclusively dedicated to non-profit and social service organizations.

“The addition of the employee benefits team strengthens our Pennsylvania presence and furthers our expertise in the non-profit sector,” said Alan Levitz, CEO of Alera Group. “Their collaborative team is a strong fit for Alera Group’s culture and we are proud to have them with us as we continue to grow and serve our customers.”

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Lamb Insurance Services’ employee benefits division offers strategic consulting, compliance strategies, technology solutions, administration and claim analytics.

“Even though they will now be part of Alera Group, our former benefits team will continue to serve as trusted advisors to Lamb Insurance Services clients,” said Joshua Lamberg, CEO and Founder of Lamb Insurance Services. “This agreement allows us to provide our clients with improved benefits tools, national expertise and resources while we focus all of our attention on our primary portfolio of business insurance offerings.”

Corey Heller, the former leader of Lamb Insurance Services’ employee benefits division who is now a Managing Partner at Alera added, “We are excited to provide our long-standing Lamb clients with a premier level of service and support via the strengths of the Alera Group – not only here locally but amongst the Alera family of firms across the country.”

The Lamb Insurance Services benefits team joins Alera Group through the firm’s Philadelphia location and will be known as Alera Group. The acquisition is effective April 1, 2021, and the terms of the transaction were not announced.
