Alera Group Appoints Wendy Booth as Director of Select Personal Lines

Twenty-five-year industry veteran to build middle-market personal lines platform within Property & Casualty, bringing dedicated service to more than 180,000 clients nationwide 

Deerfield, IL. October 26, 2026 — Alera Group, a top independent national insurance and financial services firm, today announced the appointment of Wendy Booth as Director of Select Personal Lines, the firm’s new middle-market personal lines platform serving more than 180,000 Alera Group clients nationwide. Booth brings more than 25 years of industry experience in strategy and distribution and will lead the development of the segment, which is a natural extension of the commercial strategy behind Alera Group Select.  

Booth joins Alera Group from The Hanover Insurance Group, where she most recently served as Vice President, Strategy & Distribution. In that role, she led growth strategy for small commercial, partnering with field and business leadership to shape distribution plans across Hanover’s national and regional broker and agency relationships. She built Hanover’s National Practice Group, which aligned sales and underwriting teams nationwide around the company’s top 20 broker relationships, as well as emerging brokers, networks, aggregators and alternative distribution. Nearly 17 years ago, as Regional Sales Director for the Pacific Region, Booth launched Hanover’s small commercial business across the western half of the United States. Before Hanover, she worked in personal lines and then small commercial sales at The Hartford, and earlier spent 10 years in the independent agency space focused on personal lines sales and leadership.

Booth holds a bachelor’s degree in operations management from California State University, Stanislaus, and a master’s degree in finance from Northeastern University. She completed the Strategy Execution program at Harvard Business School and holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. 

As Alera Group Select continues to grow, the firm also announced that Mandy Ougheltree has been promoted to Director of Select Small Business. Ougheltree has led the rollout of Select’s small commercial platform as Chief Operating Officer, Small Business Commercial Property & Casualty since joining Alera Group in 2025 and will now oversee the segment’s overall strategy. Booth and Ougheltree will report to Ben Lemann, Senior Vice President, Director of Select, as he leads the broader Select strategy.
