Alera Group Releases 2025 Mental Health Awareness Toolkit to Support Employee Wellbeing and Connection
April 30, 2025

Deerfield, IL (May 1, 2025) — To mark the start of Mental Health Awareness Month, Alera Group, a top national insurance and financial services firm, has published its 2025 Mental Health Awareness Toolkit. The toolkit is a free resource developed to support organizations in planning mental health initiatives and prioritizing workplace wellbeing for their teams.
This year’s release comes at a time when mental health concerns remain high across the workforce. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about one in five adults in the U.S. report experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. At the same time, over one-third of workers (35%) say their job has a negative impact on their mental health – a reminder of the importance of employers taking an active role in creating healthier, more supportive work environments.
The toolkit, now available for download, includes a range of customizable materials designed to help organizations encourage healthy dialogue and provide meaningful support for employee mental health. Resources in the toolkit include:
- Customizable communication materials such as email templates and posters
- Mental health tips and prompts to encourage employee participation
- Guidance on organizing wellness challenges and providing training sessions
"Moving beyond awareness, this toolkit empowers employers to take concrete, proactive steps in cultivating a workplace culture where mental wellbeing is not just a topic of discussion, but an integral part of the employee experience," said Sally Prather, Executive Vice President of Employee Benefits. "By providing practical resources for communication, engagement, and support, we can help organizations build greater connection among their teams throughout the year."
This year’s resources focus on building connections, emphasizing the role of community and shared experience in reducing mental health stigma. Alera Group made the toolkit available in advance of May to give employers time to plan and coordinate their internal efforts.
