Meet Our Team
Becky Overmyer
Receptionist and Customer Service RepresentativeBecky Overmyer started with Loretz Insurance in 1984. She has been the receptionist and customer service representative. She assists the agents and insureds working to provide the best possible service.
James Porrello
Managing PartnerJames Porrello serves as Senior Partner within the organization, providing risk management programs with exposure identification and analysis, guidance and support and ongoing monitoring and review. James earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. James has been repeatedly recognized for top production and account retention throughout his career. He has worked closely with loss control consultants in helping policyholders reduce their insurance costs by improving their safety programs, managing their claims and reducing their loss exposures. His in-depth knowledge, experience, education and proven record of success make him very well qualified to thoroughly assess insurance needs, recommend improvements or coverage options, and negotiate a tailored insurance program.
Janice Portaro
Commercial Account ManagerJanice Portaro recently joined Alera Group as a commercial account representative for the commercial lines department. Janice has been working in the insurance industry since graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a degree in Business and Management. She is responsible for the marketing and placement of commercial risks and the day to day servicing of accounts. As a native of Las Vegas, Janice has been active in many non profit groups, co-facilitation and encouragement for children, fund raising, and all organizations that her children have been involved with.
Dennis Prater
Account ExecutiveMy role in Alera Group as an account executive is the best part of my job. Having the opportunity to talk to many clients with different operations helps me learn and allows me to perform more efficiently at my job.
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was in the construction industry for over 15 years helping Vegas grow. I have been in the insurance industry since 2014 and plan on growing in this field over the next several years.

Are You Prepared to Comply With the New Mental Health Parity Final Rule in 2025?
On September 9, 2024, the DOL, IRS and HHS released a final rule for the Requirements Related to the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA Final Rule). The MHPAEA Final Rule is similar to the proposed rule released on July 25, 2023, with some marked differences. While the MHPAEA Final Rule is effective as of November 22, 2024, the requirements become enforceable at different times. Most apply to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2025, with other requirements becoming enforceable for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2026.

Legal Alert: IRS Adjusts Health Flexible Spending Account and Other Benefit Limits for 2025
On October 22, 2024, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released Revenue Procedure 2024-40, which increases the health flexible spending account (FSA) salary reduction contribution limit to $3,300 for plan years beginning in 2025, an increase of $100 from 2024.
