Since 1987 you may have known us as AIA, or American Insurance Administrators, or as one of our three core divisions: AIA Property & Casualty (P&C), Benefits Resource Group (BRG), or as Benefits Broker Solutions (BBS). You may have heard something about us becoming part of Alera Group in 2017. But we are all one company, and now we are aligning our name, our brand, our new look, and our new website to reflect that strong one-company story.

Meet Our Team
Scott Dardick
Medicare Benefits Consultant
Scott is a Medicare Benefits Consultant and has served in this capacity since 2014. Scott is an accomplished professional with over 25 years of experience in various sales, marketing, and leadership positions. He has over a decade of experience in insurance, and has been recognized as a sales leader for Medicare products with such companies as Humana, Health America, Geisinger, Capital Blue Cross, Aetna, and Highmark. Scott loves connecting with people and is known to build trusted, long-term client relationships.
He studied Aeronautical Engineering at Embry-Riddle University and attended the University of Maryland for his Business Administration studies and completed a term in the public arena as a Commissioner in East Pennsboro Township.
Gretchen Day
VP of Health Innovation & Advanced Strategies
Gretchen leads our DiscoverHealth® department in the Employee Benefits division of the Harrisburg office. She provides support to client’s in their cost containment, population health management and wellbeing initiatives. Gretchen believes that employers hold the key to improving healthcare and the health of their employees and is passionate about bringing forth solutions to enhance the overall health and wellbeing of employees.
Gretchen holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware and a Master of Public Health degree from Pennsylvania State University with a focus in Health Systems Organization and Policy. Gretchen is certified as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and holds a Pennsylvania Insurance Producer License for Life, Accident and Health, as well as, a certification in Critical Outcomes Report Analysis from the Intel / GE Care Innovations Validation Institute. Gretchen joined the AIA team in 2014.
John Eltringham
Senior Account Executive
John Eltringham brings over 30 years of expertise and leadership to his role as Senior Account Executive at Alera Group. Since joining the firm in 2000 and becoming a shareholder in 2008, John has been a trusted advisor to businesses across the manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and healthcare sectors. He specializes in delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions that empower organizations to navigate challenges with confidence.
Before joining Alera Group, John honed his extensive industry knowledge through key roles at Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual, where he excelled as a Field Representative, and Harleysville Mutual Insurance Company, where he served as a Marketing Specialist. His dedication to professional excellence is reflected in his earning of the prestigious Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations.
John’s depth of experience and unwavering commitment to his clients make him an invaluable asset to Alera Group and a leader in the insurance and risk management industry.

Jack is an Employee Benefits Communications Specialist with a passion for translating complex benefits policies into clear, engaging messages. Jack brings a unique perspective shaped by years of active duty service in the Army, where he honed strategic communication skills and a commitment to mission success. Deadline for San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance is approaching
The annual San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance (SF HCSO) reporting by employers that have employees who work in the City of or County of San Francisco is due by May 2, 2025. Employers should be aware of the upcoming deadline even if they are not located in San Francisco.
The SF HCSO requires large and medium-sized employers to provide covered employees with benefits equal to or greater than the expenditure rate. Covered employees are those who have been employed for more than 90 days and who regularly work at least eight hours per week within the City of and County of San Francisco.
