Since 1987 you may have known us as AIA, or American Insurance Administrators, or as one of our three core divisions: AIA Property & Casualty (P&C), Benefits Resource Group (BRG), or as Benefits Broker Solutions (BBS). You may have heard something about us becoming part of Alera Group in 2017. But we are all one company, and now we are aligning our name, our brand, our new look, and our new website to reflect that strong one-company story.

Meet Our Team
Patti Robinson
Account Manager
Patti is the Senior Account Manager in the Property and Casualty Division of the Alera Group, Harrisburg office. She has been with the team since its inauguration in 1987. She has held various positions and had multiple responsibilities including an Account Manager, where she specialized in the health care industry and continues to provide outstanding customer service to her clients. Patti is also the Property and Casualty Application Support Manager where she is responsible for the implementation, training, and utilization of the agency management system and the additional technology support services for Property & Casualty team members.
Patti began her insurance career as an underwriter with a large national carrier in both the Property & Casualty and Bond divisions.
Patti is also active in NetVU, the Network of Vertafore Users, where she participates as a member of the National Chapter Committee, the Sagitta National Education Committee, and is an officer in the local user’s group. Additionally, Patti holds her AU (Associate Underwriter) and NcSA (NetVU Certified Sagitta Administrator) designations. She is also pursuing her Certified Insurance Counselor designation.
Taylor Ross
Medicare Account Manager
Taylor Ross is a dedicated Medicare Account Manager at Alera Group, providing essential support to the company’s team of Medicare agents. With a strong background in Medicare sales and marketing, she understands the complexities of Medicare and is passionate about helping individuals make informed healthcare decisions. Taylor firmly believes that working with a qualified Medicare consultant is key to selecting the right coverage and avoiding costly mistakes.
In her role, Taylor oversees agent support, client engagement, and sales and marketing strategy, ensuring agents have the resources and guidance they need to succeed. She brings valuable industry expertise and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to both agents and beneficiaries.
Taylor holds a B.A. in Communication/Journalism from Shippensburg University and maintains an active Accident & Health, Life, and Fixed Annuities license. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and—most of all—her two dogs, Ebby and Boogie.
Chas Rowzer
Director of TPA Services
Chas Rowzer is the Director of TPA Services and is responsible for introducing prospect and new clients to our administrative services, as well as assisting with servicing existing clients. Chas delivers extraordinary service, RFP strategy and is an expert in the self-funded market.
Chas spent her entire professional career working in various positions in the healthcare market, primarily in the third-party administration section. Chas is a licensed Life, Accident and Health agent. She has a designation for Certified Employee Benefits Consultant and also has an Associate’s Degree as a paralegal. Additional certifications through NABIP for ACA and Beyond, Account Based Health Plans and Medical Expense Reimbursement Plans (MERPs) rounds out her professional experience.
Tara Schlyfestone
Business Development Manager, Small Business Unit
Tara is the Business Development Manager for the Small Business Unit. In this newly created role, she will use her sales, recruiting, and business development experience to help create an engagement process for SBU prospects and clients to help ensure all services offered by Alera Group are covered.
She received her B.S. in Human Resource Management from Central Penn College and holds her producer license in Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance.
Volunteering and giving back to her community are very important to Tara. She currently sits on the board of SLK Foundation which is an organization helping children with rare diseases. Tara lives with her daughter Trinity and her dog Cooper. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking, learning to golf (she has been in the learning stage for quite a while) and watching her daughter ride horses competitively.

Deadline for San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance is approaching
The annual San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance (SF HCSO) reporting by employers that have employees who work in the City of or County of San Francisco is due by May 2, 2025. Employers should be aware of the upcoming deadline even if they are not located in San Francisco.
The SF HCSO requires large and medium-sized employers to provide covered employees with benefits equal to or greater than the expenditure rate. Covered employees are those who have been employed for more than 90 days and who regularly work at least eight hours per week within the City of and County of San Francisco.

International Roadcheck Is May 13-15. Is Your Commercial Transportation Fleet Ready?
For 72 hours next month, commercial motor vehicles and drivers throughout North America will be subject to what the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) calls a “high-visibility, high-volume” inspection and regulatory compliance enforcement initiative.
The annual event, known as the International Roadcheck, will take place at weigh and inspection stations, temporary sites and locations selected by mobile patrols from May 13-15 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
