Bethany Daniels
Partner, HR Services
Bethany works closely with our team to assist clients in all aspects of HR, drawing upon her 10+ years of experience in recruiting, benefits, employee relations, strategy, and other areas. Before joining Alera Group, she worked in a variety of industries, including biopharma and life sciences, airline transportation, manufacturing, and technology.
A graduate of Capella University with an MBA in Human Resources, Bethany also earned the Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP®).
Bethany lives in Tacoma and volunteers with the local Ronald McDonald House, cooking meals for families staying in the house and donating various items. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes five siblings and 14 nieces and nephews, along with her mother, father, and stepmother. She also tends to her houseplants, listens to audiobooks, and loves to craft and shop.
Akeem Davis
Advisor, Retirement Services & Wealth Management
Akeem advises fiduciaries on best practices for qualified retirement plans, providing recommendations for effective plan design and revisions, monitoring investment lineups, and offering education for groups and individuals in the plan. He started with Alera Group as an Investment Strategist for the Retirement team and draws upon his strong financial background to make informed recommendations and develop strategies for business owners and key decision makers. Akeem also engages in individual wealth management discussions which may pertain to assets outside the Plan.
Prior to joining Alera Group in 2018, Akeem worked in business development and recruitment; he also has a background in real estate valuation. He began his career as an Investment Consulting Analyst for Mercer, where he evaluated investments and conducted research for retirement and endowment plans ranging up to $6 billion.
Akeem, who holds Series 7, Series 66, and Life and Health insurance licenses, earned his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. A resident of University Place, he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, practicing jiu-jitsu and kickboxing, and indulging in a great book.

Ron Devon, CPFA
Sr. Account Manager, Retirement Plan Services
Ron has a business background that spans more than a quarter-century—as a small-business owner for 20 years, he worked with investors and provided financial planning services before joining the team as an Account Strategist in 2015.
Ron’s deep understanding of the concern’s small businesses face, along with his vast experience on both the employer and investor sides, allow him to effectively build long-term retirement strategies for our clients and develop plans that meet each organization’s unique needs. A graduate of the University of Alaska with a degree in chemistry,
Ron describes himself as a “numbers guy”; he holds Series 7 and 66 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and is a registered Investment Advisor Representative. He has also earned the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation.
When he’s not focusing on the numbers with clients and their employees, Ron is often out on the water, enjoying the sights of Alaska from his sailboat.

Bonnie Gentry, RHU®, REBC®
Lead Consultant, Employee Benefits
After nearly 20 years of experience in the health insurance industry, both on the carrier and brokerage sides, Bonnie joined the team in 2013. Her extensive knowledge includes not only self-funding arrangements and fully insured arrangements, but also contract negotiations, the claims process, HSA plans, and HRA plan options—all delivered with genuine care for the well-being of clients’ employees.
Always striving to improve her skills, Bonnie has earned the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU®) and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC®) designations. She also studied health and education at Highline Community College and the University of Puget Sound.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Bonnie still calls the area home today. She enjoys being outdoors, hanging out with her furry friends on land, and roaming with the magical sea life in our oceans. In winter, you likely will find her engaged in an NHL game—and she’s extremely excited to watch Seattle’s new team.
