    Meet Our Team

    Rikevea Watson

    Personal Account Manager
    Rikevea Watson

Rikevea started her career in insurance at John Hackney Agency in April 2024. Even though she never considered insurance before, 3 weeks after starting, she was licensed. Rikevea is a Personal Lines Account Manager. Her background is filled with customer service mostly IT support so she understands the needs to provide.

She was born and raised in Martin County. 10 years ago, she and her husband Justin made Wilson their new home. A home they share with their 2 daughters Charlie and Kori. Some of Rikevea favorites are movie nights with the kids, traveling, and trying new restaurants with Justin.

    Ann Burnette CISR, CBIA

    Commercial Lines Account Manager
    Ann Burnette CISR, CBIA

Ann Burnette brings over 30 years of insurance experience and knowledge as an Account Manager in our Commercial Insurance Department. She started her insurance career in 1985 working with a local agency in Rocky Mount, NC. She has her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) Elite designation and obtained the Certified Builders Insurance Agent (CBIA) designation in 2006.

She is a lifelong resident of Nash County and currently lives in Castalia, NC with her husband Earl, youngest son Colt, their dog Rufus and two cats. Their oldest son Trevor lives in South Carolina with his wife and daughter. In her free time, Ann enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, fishing and camping.

    Ann Carter

    Commercial Account Manager
    Ann Carter

Ann Carter joined the John Hackney family as a Commercial Account Manager in October 2015, bringing over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. She is passionate about her work and dedicated to excellence in client service.

She resides in Louisburg, NC with husband, Tommy, on their little 15 acre farm with their children, who all have four legs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, and camping but, most of all, trail riding in the mud with her husband and friends on their Polaris RZR.

    Michele Foster

    Commercial Lines Department Manager
    Michele Foster

Michele started her insurance carrier in 1999 as an insurance agent in Raleigh, working with several agencies in the Triangle Area before finding her home at John Hackney Agency in 2013 as a Commercial Account Manager. She has her AAI (Accredited Advisor in Insurance) professional designation and brings 20 years of insurance knowledge and experience as an Account Manager to our Commercial Insurance Department.

Born and raised in Cary as a city girl, she now loves the country life on a farm in Franklin County with her husband, David, and 2 of their 3 children, Ben, and Jessica along with numerous cats, dogs, goats (really, goats), horses and cows. Next door are her parents so they are living together on the family farm in Castalia – think Green Acres updated to 2020 with a decidedly North Carolina spin. Her older daughter, Nichole recently made her a grandmother. Her grandson’s name is Nash.

In her spare time she likes to… wait! What spare time? Between work, children, the farm, church, and lots and lots of laundry, she likes to have a few quiet minutes to sleep.

Michele specializes in assisting producers in finding markets for and writing many different types of new commercial lines businesses while managing accounts for her existing customers.

Improving Transportation Fleet Safety Through Gamification

The COVID-19 pandemic pushed companies to find creative ways to engage employees as isolation hit an all-time high. Many turned to gamification — the application game mechanics such as points, badges and leaderboards to everyday tasks — to reconnect with staff and improve retention, especially around key initiatives like safety. It’s a concept so suitable for the transportation industry, it could have been conceived with truckers and other commercial auto drivers in mind.
