Meet Our Team
Scott Peterson, CLCS
Risk Consultant
Scott specializes in providing insurance and risk management solutions for clients in the oil and gas industry, construction, and nonprofit organizations. With a strong understanding of the unique challenges these sectors face, he works closely with clients to design programs that protect their businesses and support long-term success.
A graduate of Tarleton State University, Scott brings both knowledge and dedication to every client relationship. Known for building trust and delivering tailored solutions, he is committed to helping organizations minimize risk while maintaining competitive coverage.
Outside of the office, family is Scott’s top priority, especially watching or coaching his son’s baseball team across the state. He also enjoys traveling to tropical destinations with his wife and playing golf.

Operating Partner
Diannah specializes in medical malpractice and has built her career in an industry that is often complex and not widely understood. She is passionate about helping clients navigate this space with confidence and clarity. In addition to her client work, Diannah mentors the West Texas Growth Leaders. A proven innovator, Diannah played a key role in the creation of the Texas Medical Safety Group program through Texas Mutual, which provides medical industry employers with premium discounts, performance-based dividends, and access to tailored safety resources and eLearning courses.
A dedicated leader beyond the workplace, Diannah has been deeply involved in her community. She currently serves on the Covenant Board, volunteers at Covenant Children’s Hospital, and has previously served as Chair of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and the Goodwill Board. She believes that while financial support is important, giving one’s time is truly invaluable.
Rhonda Thomack, CIC
Benefits Consultant
Rhonda brings more than 40 years of experience in employee benefits to her clients. She specializes in developing strategies that help employers reduce costs while offering benefit packages that employees truly value. Passionate about education, Rhonda enjoys helping employees understand the full worth of their benefits and leveraging Alera Group’s resources and tools to deliver tailored solutions. She has earned her Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation in Commercial Lines and is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Rhonda has also served in multiple leadership roles with the Lubbock Area Association of Health Underwriters. Dedicated to giving back, she has supported the American Diabetes Association and contributed to numerous charity golf tournaments. Outside the office, Rhonda enjoys lake trips with family and friends, estate sale shopping, and spending time outdoors with their many dogs, who are very much part of the family.

Sherry specializes in home and auto insurance, working closely with clients to help them understand their policies while ensuring they receive optimal coverage at competitive rates. With over 28 years in the industry, her comprehensive approach extends beyond basic coverage to include umbrella, boat, motorcycle, renters, and landlord policies. Sherry earned the ACSR designation and maintains licenses in both property & casualty and life & health insurance.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sherry demonstrates a strong commitment to community service through her involvement with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Outside the office, she stays active at the gym, explores new destinations through travel, attends concerts, and cherishes quality time with her family and grandchildren.

Legal Alert: Enforcement of the HIPAA Reproductive Health Care Privacy Rule Vacated Nationwide
On June 18, 2025, a federal district court in Texas vacated a significant portion of the HIPAA Privacy Rule to Support Reproductive Health Care Privacy (“Final Rule”), which was implemented on April 24, 2024, on a nationwide basis. The Final Rule, which was implemented in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (effectively overturning Roe v. Wade), was intended to protect the ability of individuals to receive reproductive health care when the care is provided lawfully under the circumstances without risk of an individual’s identity or health information being disclosed for purposes of state criminal, civil or administrative investigations (or for imposing liability related to lawfully providing or obtaining reproductive healthcare).
