    Kelly O'Donnell

    Benefits Analyst
    Kelly O'Donnell

    Kelly O’Donnell joined CPI-HR in 2017 as a Benefits Analyst and supports the benefits team in bringing clients unique and strategic health and welfare solutions. Kelly has a knack for delivering great service and helping clients and their employees navigate the complexities that accompany employee benefits.  Kelly also manages the processes around client onboarding and renewals and prepares marketing and communication materials.

    Kelly graduated from Shawnee State University with a degree in Individualized Studies with a concentration in Health Care Administration and brings with her years of experience in employee service and advocacy.

    Danielle Capilla

    Danielle Capilla

    Danielle is focused on enhancing Alera Group’s existing compliance capabilities and building new world class solutions for Alera Group’s employee benefits clients. Her legal background helps Alera Group clients navigate the complex landscape of healthcare legislation, regulation and reform.

    Danielle was formerly the Senior Vice President of Compliance and Operations at United Benefit Advisors.  In her role, she oversaw the organization’s compliance efforts and day-to-day operations, as well as evaluated the impact of long-range planning. Danielle currently serves as an adjunct professor at DePaul University College of Law and is the Federal and State Legislative Chair for the Downtown Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU).

    Lisa Allen, CAPPP, CAS, CFC, CHRS

    Lisa Allen, CAPPP, CAS, CFC, CHRS

    With 25 year of employee benefits experience, Lisa Allen is the Alera Group internal subject matter expert on legal and regulatory affairs and health and welfare compliance.  Lisa manages regulatory updates and provides client council regarding the Affordable Care Act and managing employee eligibility.  Lisa was recently appointed to the IRS Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC) in Washington DC.

    Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) is a nonprofit workforce development organization based in Cleveland, Ohio that serves teens and young adults ages 14-24 living in economically distressed areas in Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Lake Counties. Y.O.U.’s programs and services are focused on ensuring these individuals are ready to pursue a path to economic self-sufficiency through mentoring, employability skills training, industry-based credential training, career exploration, jobs, and internships.

    Medicare Part D Creditability Determinations for Non-Calendar Year Plans

    In 2003, the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act (MMA) added a voluntary prescription drug benefit to the Medicare program. The benefit, known as Medicare Part D or “Part D,” is an optional program for Medicare beneficiaries to access covered prescription drugs at a lower cost. In 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was signed and set into motion changes to Part D benefits, with additional impact on employers in 2024 and 2025.
